The Biblioteca Europea di Informazione e Cultura is an ongoing project based in Milan, Italy for the realization of a new modern library. It began in the late 1990s, when Antonio Padoa-Schioppa submitted the idea for the first time to the City of Milan and the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism.- Type: Library

Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II

The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is Italy's oldest active shopping arcade and a major landmark of Milan. The Biblioteca Ambrosiana is a historic library in Milan, Italy, also housing the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana, the Ambrosian art gallery. Named after Ambrose, the patron saint of Milan, it was founded in 1609 by Cardinal Federico Borromeo, whose agents scoured Western Europe and even Greece and Syria for books and manuscripts. Biblioteca Ambrosiana is situated 280 metres southwest of Biblioteca europea di informazione e cultura.
