Named after its founder Shaik Abdul Gaffoor, it was originally built in 1910 as a replacement of an older mosque located along Dunlop Street. Masjid Abdul Gaffoor is situated 220 metres northwest of Church of Our Lady of Lourdes.

The Sultan Mosque is a historic mosque located within the Kampong Glam locality of Rochor, Singapore. Built in 1826 and later rebuilt into its present form in 1932, it is the most well-known mosque in the country and has been gazetted as a national monument.
