Blatobulgium

Blatobulgium was a Roman fort, located at the modern-day site known as Birrens, in Dumfriesshire, Scotland. It protected the main western road to Scotland. Blatobulgium is situated 2 miles east of Shawbrae.

Repentance Tower

The Repentance Tower is a very rare example of a mid-16th century watch tower standing on Trailtrow Hill, six miles north-west of Annan, Dumfries and Galloway. Repentance Tower is situated 2½ miles southwest of Shawbrae.
