Beinn Resipol is a mountain of the Northwest Highlands, Scotland, in the Ardnamurchan area of Lochaber. The mountain is the most western of Scotland's large peaks. It lies between Loch Sunart and Loch Shiel.

Acharacle is a village on the landward end of the Ardnamurchan peninsula in the Scottish Highlands, at the foot of Loch Shiel. The ford referred to in the name spans the River Shiel, and, according to legend, was the site of a battle between Somerled and a Norwegian warrior named Torquil.
