Perth is a city in Perth and Kinross in North East Scotland, with a population in 2016 of 47,430. It stands at a point where the River Tay channels between hills, turns sharply and becomes tidal and navigable.
Crieff

Crieff is a town in Perth and Kinross on the edge of the Scottish Highlands, with a population in 2021 of 7330. It's a well-preserved Victorian resort town, along with Comrie to the west.
Aberfeldy

Aberfeldy is a small town in Perth and Kinross in North East Scotland, with a population of 1940 in 2021. That county straddles the Highland / Lowland divide, and Aberfeldy is scenically very much in the central Highlands.

Dunkeld

Dunkeld is a village in the Highland part of Perth and Kinross, Scotland, on the east bank of the River Tay The village of Birnam is on the opposite bank, connected by the Telford Bridge; the combined population in 2021 was 1350.
Pitlochry

Pitlochry is a town in Perth and Kinross with a population in 2021 of 2950. It's 27 miles north of Perth in the valley of the River Tummel, long a major route between the Lowlands and the central Highlands.
Kinross

Kinross is a small town in Perth and Kinross, 13 miles south of Perth. With a population of 5650 in 2021, it stands on the shores of Loch Leven, with the scarp of the Lomond Hills looming to the east and a mysterious giant golf ball to the west.
Rannoch Moor

Rannoch Moor is an expanse of boggy moorland to the west of Loch Rannoch in Perth and Kinross, covering 50 square miles. Parts of it lie in other regions but the focus of this page is its remote centre, devoid of fields, dwellings or public roads.
Blairgowrie & Rattray

Blairgowrie & Rattray is a town in Perth and Kinross, 16 mi north of Perth, with a population of 9260 in 2021. Blairgowrie is the larger settlement, southwest of the River Ericht, and Rattray is northeast.

Birnam is a village in the Highland part of Perth and Kinross, which grew up in the 19th century as a resort town when the railway reached it. It's on the west bank of the River Tay, which here makes an S-bend, so it becomes the south bank.
