Syrian Desert
The Syrian Desert is a vast and sparsely populated region in southeastern Syria. It is the basin of the river Euphrates. It consists of the governorates of Raqqa, Al-Hasakah, Deir ez-Zor and parts of the governorates of Homs, Hama and Rif Dimashq.Essential Destinations

Raqqa, is a city in Syria on the North bank of the Euphrates River, about 160 kilometres east of Aleppo. It is located 40 kilometres east of the Euphrates Dam, Syria's largest dam.

Al-Hasakah

Al-Hasakah is the capital of the Al-Hasakah Governorate in Syria. It is the eighth largest city of Syria with a population of 180.000 inhabitants. It is best known for its ethnically diverse population of Kurds, Arabs, Assyrians, and smaller numbers of Armenians.

Tabqa, formerly Al-Thawrah, is a city in Raqqa Governorate, Syria, approximately 55 kilometres west of Raqqa. Until the 1960s it had been a relatively small settlement. The city had a population of 69,425 as of the 2004 census.
