Llyn Tegid, also known as Bala Lake or Lake Bala in English, is a large freshwater glacial lake in Gwynedd, Wales. The River Dee, which has its source on the slopes of Dduallt in the mountains of Snowdonia, feeds the 3.7-by-0.5-mile lake. Bala Lake is situated 2 miles east of Bryn-coch.

Pentrepiod railway station is a small unstaffed railway halt on the Bala Lake Railway alongside the B4403. Trains will stop here by request only, and the station can only be accessed by means of footpaths around the lake. Pentrepiod Halt railway station is situated 1½ miles southeast of Bryn-coch.
