Venetian Ghetto

The Venetian Ghetto was the area of Venice in which Jews were forced to live by the government of the Venetian Republic. The English word ghetto is derived from the Jewish ghetto in Venice. Venetian Ghetto is situated 250 metres northeast of Salizada San Geremia.

San Geremia is a church in Venice, northern Italy, located in the sestiere of Cannaregio. The apse of the church faces the Grand Canal, between the Palazzo Labia and the Palazzo Flangini.
