Tor y Foel is a hill in the Brecon Beacons National Park in the county of Powys in Wales. It is located on the eastern flank of Talybont Reservoir, and the summit at 551m is marked by a small cairn.

Talybont Reservoir is the largest stillwater reservoir in the central Brecon Beacons at 318 acres. Talybont-on-Usk is 1.5 miles downstream of the dam. Construction of the current dam started in 1931 by Newport Corporation, and in 1939 the reservoir started supplying Newport with treated water.

Aber, also known as Aber Village or the Welsh name Aberclydach, is a hamlet within the Brecon Beacons National Park in Powys, Wales. It is centred on the confluence between the Clydach brook meets the Caerfanell river, and on a minor road which runs south from Talybont-on-Usk.

Llangynidr is a village, community and electoral ward in Powys, Wales, about 4 miles west of Crickhowell and 9 miles south-east of Brecon. The River Usk flows through the village as does the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal. Llangynidr is situated 2½ miles east of Tor y Foel.

Bwlch is a village and an electoral ward in the community of Cwmdu and District, Powys, south Wales. The settlement is strung out along the A40 road which crosses a low col above the Usk Valley at this point on its route between Brecon and Crickhowell. Bwlch is situated 2½ miles northeast of Tor y Foel.
