Raffles Hotel is a historic luxury hotel at 1 Beach Road, in Singapore. It was established by Armenian hoteliers, the Sarkies Brothers, in 1887. The hotel was named after British colonial official Stamford Raffles, the founder of modern Singapore. Raffles Hotel is situated 220 metres southwest of South Beach.

The National Library is the flagship national library of Singapore. A subsidiary of the National Library Board, it consists of twin 16-storey blocks, linked by bridges on the upper floors, with three underground basements located on an 11,304-square-metre prime location in Victoria Street within the Downtown Core. National Library is situated 330 metres northwest of South Beach.

Raffles City is a large complex located in the Civic District within the Downtown Core of the city-state of Singapore. Occupying an entire city block bounded by Stamford Road, Beach Road, Bras Basah Road and North Bridge Road, it houses two hotels and an office tower over a podium which contains a shopping complex and a convention centre. Raffles City Shopping Centre is situated 380 metres southwest of South Beach.
