Knockdavie Castle is a now-ruined 17th-century house in Burntisland parish, Fife, Scotland. The name probably derives from the Gaelic cnoc dubh -in " black hill ", with cnoc dabhoch “the hill farm” another theory. Knockdavie Castle is situated 2,100 feet south of Linhead.

Aberdour Castle

Aberdour Castle is in the village of Easter Aberdour, Fife, Scotland. Parts of the castle date from around 1200, making Aberdour one of the two oldest datable standing castles in Scotland, along with Castle Sween in Argyll, which was built at around the same time. Aberdour Castle is situated 2½ miles southwest of Linhead.

Auchtertool is a small village in Fife, Scotland. It is 4 miles west of Kirkcaldy. The name is from the Gaelic uachdar, meaning upland or heights above the Tiel burn.

Burntisland is a port on the north coast of the Firth of Forth, in Fife in central Scotland, with a population of 6600 in 2020. Its west side is industrial and formerly had ship-building, but its east is a small seaside resort and commuter town for Edinburgh.
