Garreg Lwyd is a hill in Mid Wales, between the towns of Rhayader and Llangurig. It rises to the east above the A470 as it follows the Wye Valley. The Bryn Titli Wind Farm is situated on an area of flatter moorland to the north-west. Garreg Lwyd is situated 2 miles northwest of Staff Car Park.

Rhayader Castle is the remains of a motte-and-bailey castle in the town of Rhayader, Powys, Wales. The available documentary sources are not clear enough to distinguish between this site and the castle mound across the river and one or the other was probably built by Rhys ap Gruffydd, Prince of Deheubarth, in 1177. Rhayader Castle is situated 2½ miles south of Staff Car Park.

St Harmon is a village and community in Radnorshire, Powys, Wales. The population of the community at the 2011 census was 593. It is located on the Afon Marteg on the B4518 road running between Llanidloes and Rhayader. St Harmon is situated 1½ miles northeast of Staff Car Park.

The town is 20 miles from the source of the River Wye on Plynlimon, the highest point of the Cambrian Mountains, and is located at the junction of the A470 road and the A44 road 13 miles north of Builth Wells and 30 miles east of Aberystwyth.
