The impounded reservoir, also formed with the Edgar Dam and the Serpentine Dam, is called Lake Pedder which flooded Lake Edgar, a naturally forming fault scarp pond. Scotts Peak Dam is situated 1 km north of Huon River Campground (Scotts Peak).
