Ugarit was an ancient Levantine coastal city located in what is today northern Syria, at a site known in Arabic as Ras Shamra or Tell Shamra. Since its discovery in 1928, the site has revealed the oldest known systematic use of an alphabet. Ugarit is situated 3 km east of Ra’s Bin Hānī.

Ras Ibn Hani

Ras Ibn Hani, Ugaritic Raʾšu, is a small cape located 8 kilometers north of Latakia, Syria on the Mediterranean Sea. It is an important archaeological site as it was occupied almost continuously from the late Bronze Age until Byzantine times.
