Horton Plains National Park is in central Sri Lanka. It is a forested highland plateau area with the most extensive area of cloud forest in Sri Lanka. Horton Plains is one of a group of three highland parks listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List as Central Highlands of Sri Lanka; the others are the Knuckles Mountain Range and the Peak Wilderness Protected Area.

Baker's Falls is a famous waterfall in Horton Plains National Park in the Nuwara Eliya District of Sri Lanka. Approximately 20 metres high, the waterfall is formed by the Belihul Oya, a major tributary of the Walawe River. Baker’s Falls is situated 3 km west of Short Cut Pool.

Bambarakanda Falls is the tallest waterfall in Sri Lanka. With a height of 263 m, it ranks as the 461st highest waterfall in the world. Situated in Kalupahana in the Badulla District, this waterfall is 5 km away from the A4 Highway. Bambarakanda Falls is situated 3½ km southeast of Short Cut Pool.
