Clova is a village in Glen Clova, Angus, Scotland. It lies on the River South Esk, some 12 miles north of Kirriemuir. During the 1745 Jacobite Rising, Lord David Ogilvy raised a regiment from local tenants; it retreated in good order from Culloden on 16 April and was disbanded at Clova on 21st. Clova is situated 4½ miles north of Glen Prosen.

Balintore is a village in Angus, Scotland. It lies in Glen Isla, four miles north of the Loch of Lintrathen and seven miles west of Kirriemuir. Approximately half a mile to the east is Knowehead of Auldallan farm, where there can be found a pair of uninscribed standing stones. Balintore is situated 4½ miles south of Glen Prosen.
