Loch Muick is an upland, freshwater loch lying approximately five miles south of Braemar, Scotland at the head of Glen Muick and within the boundary of the Balmoral estate.

Falls of Glas Allt is a 50-metre waterfall near the head of Loch Muick, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Queen Victoria liked to take walks here beside the stream flowing from Lochnagar down to Loch Muick. Falls of Glas Allt is situated 1¼ miles northwest of Glasallt Shiel.

Broad Cairn is a mountain in the Grampians of Scotland, located about 16 mi south of the River Dee near Balmoral. It has an elevation of 998 m and a prominence of 64 m and is a Munro. Broad Cairn is situated 2½ miles west of Glasallt Shiel.

Clova is a village in Glen Clova, Angus, Scotland. It lies on the River South Esk, some 12 miles north of Kirriemuir. During the 1745 Jacobite Rising, Lord David Ogilvy raised a regiment from local tenants; it retreated in good order from Culloden on 16 April and was disbanded at Clova on 21st. Clova is situated 6 miles southeast of Glasallt Shiel.
