Lho La
Mountain saddle
The Lho La is a col on the border between Nepal and Tibet north of the Western Cwm, near Mount Everest. Situated low on the West Ridge of the mountain at a height of 6,006 metres, it is not exactly a pass but more of a saddle on the Mt.

Lingtren, 6,749 metres, is a mountain in the Mahalangur Himal area of Himalaya, about 8 kilometres distant in a direct line from Mount Everest. It lies on the international border between Nepal and the Tibet Autonomous Region of China and it was first climbed in 1935. Lingtren is situated 3 km northwest of Lola.

The Khumbu Icefall is located at the head of the Khumbu Glacier and the foot of the Western Cwm. It lies at an elevation of 5,486 metres on the Nepali slopes of Mount Everest, not far above Base Camp and southwest of the summit.

Gorak Shep, also spelled Gorakshep, is a settlement nestled on the periphery of a frozen lakebed blanketed with sand in Nepal, sharing its name with the locale. Gorakshep is situated 6 km southwest of Lola.
Hillary Step

The Hillary Step was a 40-foot vertical rock face that sat 8,790 metres above sea level on the southeast ridge of Mount Everest. Located halfway between the "South Summit" and the true summit, the Hillary Step was the most technically difficult part of the typical Nepal-side Everest climb and the last real challenge before reaching the top of the mountain. Hillary Step is situated 6 km southeast of Lola.
