Alert Channel

Alert Channel is a small channel between and , and leading to the head of Husvik Harbor in , South Georgia. It was charted by Discovery Investigations personnel in 1928 and named after Alert, the motorboat used by the DI survey party.

is a mountain, 645 metres high, standing west of Husvik Harbour on the north coast of South Georgia. Its name is descriptive, and was probably given by the Discovery Investigations in 1926–30. is situated 4 km west of Alert Channel.

is a shallow at the head of , to the west-northwest of Husvik Harbor, South Georgia. Named by the United Kingdom Antarctic Place-Names Committee in 1990 after the midge Parochlus steinenii, whose larvae abound near the margins of the lake. is situated 3½ km west of Alert Channel.
