Main Channel is a small channel lying south of the Bar Rocks and leading to the head of Husvik Harbor in Stromness Bay, South Georgia. The name appears to be first used on a 1930 British Admiralty chart.Places of Interest

Mount Barren is a mountain, 645 metres high, standing west of Husvik Harbour on the north coast of South Georgia. Its name is descriptive, and was probably given by the Discovery Investigations in 1926–30. Mount Barren is situated 4 km west of Main Channel.
Parochlus Lake
Lake
Parochlus Lake is a shallow lake at the head of Karrakatta Valley, to the west-northwest of Husvik Harbor, South Georgia. Named by the United Kingdom Antarctic Place-Names Committee in 1990 after the midge Parochlus steinenii, whose larvae abound near the margins of the lake. Parochlus Lake is situated 3½ km west of Main Channel.
