Nant-y-moch Reservoir

Nant-y-moch Reservoir is situated in the Cambrian Mountains in northern Ceredigion, Wales, near Pumlumon. The reservoir which flooded a part of the valley of the River Rheidol and its headwaters derives its name from a stream, the Nant-y-moch, which formerly flowed into the River Rheidol at this spot.

Plynlimon, or Pumlumon in Welsh, is the highest point of the Cambrian Mountains in Wales, and the highest point in Mid Wales. It is a massif that dominates the surrounding countryside and is the highest point of Ceredigion. Plynlimon is situated 2 miles east of Yr Helfa Las.

Eisteddfa Gurig is a hamlet located in Ceredigion on its border with Powys and situated along the A44. Its name comes from the Welsh word eisteddfa, meaning seat and the name of St Curig. Eisteddfa Gurig is situated 3 miles southeast of Yr Helfa Las.

Ponterwyd is a village in Ceredigion, Wales. It lies in the Cambrian Mountains of Mid Wales, approximately 12 miles east of Aberystwyth on the A44 road.

Cwmsymlog

Cwmsymlog is a short valley, sheltering a hamlet of the same name, in Ceredigion, in the west of Wales. Once an important mining area, but the mining slowly declined and finally came to an end in 1901. Cwmsymlog is situated 4 miles southwest of Yr Helfa Las.
