Loch of the Lowes is a loch near Dunkeld in Perth and Kinross, Scotland. The loch and the surrounding area are designated as a wildlife reserve, run by the Scottish Wildlife Trust.

Loch of Butterstone is a small freshwater loch, almost circular in shape, located within the nature reserve of the Cardney Estate, near Dunkeld in Perth and Kinross.

It is located on the Highland Main Line, 15 miles 31 chains north of Perth and is the first stop on the line north of there, before Pitlochry. Dunkeld & Birnam railway station is situated 2½ miles southwest of Hilton Wood.

Birnam is a village in the Highland part of Perth and Kinross, which grew up in the 19th century as a resort town when the railway reached it. It's on the west bank of the River Tay, which here makes an S-bend, so it becomes the south bank.

Caputh is a parish and village in Perth and Kinross, Scotland. It lies on the A984 Coupar Angus-to-Dunkeld road, about 6 miles southeast of Dunkeld and 8 miles west of Coupar Angus. Caputh is situated 2½ miles southeast of Hilton Wood.
