Brahan Castle

Brahan Castle was situated 3.5 miles south-west of Dingwall, in Easter Ross, Highland Scotland. The castle belonged to the Earls of Seaforth, chiefs of the Clan Mackenzie, who dominated the area. Brahan Castle is situated 2 miles west of Balavil.

Conon Bridge is a village in the Highland region of Scotland. The current Gaelic name is likely a neologism: the bridge was not built until the early 19th century and some early gravestones show the name sgudal or scuddle.

Maryburgh

Maryburgh is a village in the Highland council area of Scotland, 2 miles south of Dingwall. It is situated on the northern bank of the River Conon. The village of Conon Bridge is on the other side of the river. Maryburgh is situated 1½ miles north of Balavil.

Muir of Ord is a village in Easter Ross, in the Highland council area of Scotland. It is situated near the western end of the Black Isle, about 9 miles west of the city of Inverness and 5+1⁄2 miles south of Dingwall. Muir of Ord is situated 2½ miles south of Balavil.
