The Monastery of Saint Varlaam is a Greek Orthodox monastery in central Greece, situated in the Pineios Valley northeast of the town of Kalambaka. It is located at the top of a rocky precipice that is 373 metres above the valley floor.

It is located at the top of a rocky precipice over 415 metres above the Pineios valley floor. The Holy Monastery of Roussanou is situated 380 metres southeast of Dragon cave.

The monastery-crowned pillars of Meteora are among the most striking geological and cultural gems of Greece. The formation consists of a number of steep and narrow rock pinnacles near the town of Kalambaka in northwestern Thessaly, topped with a total of 24 monasteries, 6 of which are still in use and open to visitors.
