The Glenfinnan Viaduct is a railway viaduct on the West Highland Line at Glenfinnan, in the Lochaber district of north-western Scotland, built from 1897 to 1901. Glenfinnan Viaduct is situated 1,600 feet east of Loch Shiel.

The Glenfinnan Monument is a Category A listed monument in Glenfinnan, Lochaber, erected in 1814 and dedicated to the Scottish Highlanders who fought in the Jacobite Army during the Jacobite rising of 1745. Glenfinnan Monument is situated 1,900 feet south of Loch Shiel.

It is a small, rural area that consists of a few scattered houses on the A830 to Mallaig, after Fassfern and before Glenfinnan. Kinlocheil is situated 5 miles east of Loch Shiel.
