West Lomond

West Lomond is the highest point in the county of Fife, Scotland and the highest peak in the Lomond Hills. Its cone-shaped summit, which is the remains of a volcanic plug, rises above an escarpment of Carboniferous sandstone and limestone layers, capped with a quartz-microgabbro sill. West Lomond is situated 1½ miles south of Institute for Statecraft.

It also comprises a school, a park, seven-a-side football pitch, there used to be a village shop, and a pub which has now been converted into a private residence, the Gateside Memorial Hall and a garage.
